EEA/EU Family Visa

Documents Required

Pre-requisites

• Passport: Issued within the last 10 years, with at least two blank pages and valid for at least three months beyond the planned departure date.
• ID Photograph: Recent and passport-size.
• UK Residency:
  • Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.
• Official Travel Document: If applicable, a Note Verbale is required.

Purpose of Travel

• Tourism or Private Stay:
  • Proof of itinerary (travel bookings, planned program).
  • A confirmed return ticket (plane, ferry, bus, etc.).
• Medical Visit:
  • Medical certificate stating the necessity of treatment in France.
  • Proof of prior payment or insurance coverage for treatment.
  • A written agreement from the hospital specifying admission dates, treatment duration, and cost estimates.
  • A self-sworn statement from the applicant confirming payment of additional unforeseen medical costs.

Proof of Occupation

(Documents must be recent and dated within the last 30 days at the time of submission.)

• Employed: Recent employment letter from your UK-based employer confirming your job title, start date, salary, and authorised leave of absence.

• Self-Employed: Recent accountant’s letter, self-employment registration certificate (HMRC), or recent business bank statements.

• Student: Recent letter from your UK school, college, or university confirming your enrolment, course details, and authorised leave.

All documents must be dated within 30 days of your visa appointment.

Proof of Finance

• Personal bank statements (UK current account) from the last 3 months, showing full name and address.
• Traveller’s cheques presenting the same guarantees.
• If sponsored by a spouse/partner: Copy of their identity document, recent proof of occupation, marriage certificate, signed declaration of financial support, and recent bank statements.

Accommodation

• Hotel booking or rental agreement with applicant’s full name, address, and dates of stay.
• Attestation d’Accueil issued by the local town hall in France (if staying with a host).
• Confirmed booking from a travel agency (if applicable).

Proof of Travel

• Confirmed return ticket (plane, ferry, bus, etc.).
• Reservation confirmation of an organized trip or itinerary details, if applicable.

Travel Health Insurance

• Coverage valid across the Schengen area.
• Minimum coverage of €30,000 for medical expenses, including emergencies.

Photo Specifications

• Recent and True to Appearance: The photograph must reflect your current appearance and must not be older than six months.
• Size Requirements: The photo should be between 35 mm and 40 mm wide.
• Face Proportion: The face should occupy 32 mm to 36 mm(approximately 70-80% of the photo) from chin to forehead, excluding hair.
• Background: A plain, light-colored backgroundis required, with no shadows or patterns.
• Expression: A neutral expression, with both eyes open and clearly visible. No excessive smiling or frowning.
• Head Position: The face must be centered and looking directly at the camera.
• Glasses & Accessories: No tinted glasses, reflections, or glare; frames must not cover the eyes. Head coverings are only permitted for religious or medical reasons and must not obscure facial features.
